Ashley’s marriage to a Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t surprise them who knew her because she is an athlete and understands the pressures of life very well.

After getting trained in the church gym, she went on to become a three-sport athlete at Laura High school. She got graduated in 2004 with a degree in health science and later obtained a master’s of a physician assistant, and she also excelled in softball, volleyball, and basketball. She efficiently balanced athletics with her studies, and she got into homecoming court. Soon after that, she began working in the cardiac surgery department of a hospital in Pittsburgh.

When she went to Saint Francis University in Loretto, she opted to play softball. She was on the athletic department’s honor roll at SFU in 2004 and 2006. She is a certified physician.

Ben Roethlisberger started his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004. In 2005, he met Ashley Harlan, after her brother, who is a big fan of the Steelers, walked right up to the athlete and introduced himself during the training camp. Roethlisberger then met his sister and asked her out.

They dated for several years, but there was a lot stored in the young couple’s fate that they have gone through. When they were dating, Roethlisberger won two Super Bowl championship rings, got into a motorcycle accident, and had faced allegations of sexual assault twice.
