Eddie Money comes from an Irish Catholic family. He was born on March 21, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York City. Money’s family was connected with law enforcement and he was destined to follow in their footsteps. After becoming a police officer, like his father, during the late 1960s, he began showing interest in music and eventually ended his law enforcement career for becoming a musician. Money traveled to Berkeley, California, and became a regular at area clubs, where he eventually got enough consideration to secure a recording contract with Columbia Records.
