Kushal Punjabi was an Indian film actor and a television actor too. He won the TV reality game show, Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout it’s an Indian version of the US game show, Wipeout in February 2011.

He got the prize of ₹50 lakh. He was professional modern jazz and hip hop dancer and He did choreography in the Gladrags Manhunt Mega model and Mrs. India contests as well as various fashion shows and music videos.

He also did choreograph and direct the ‘Star Walk’ Fashion event for UMEED, an NGO for children.

Born and brought up

Kushal Punjabi was born on 23 April 1977 in a Sindhi family. His father name is Capt. VJ Punjabi from Karachi and his mother is Priya Punjabi from Hyderabad, and he was born and brought up in Mumbai.

Kushal Punjabi had two sisters named Reena and Monisha.

Kushal Punjabi was extremely active and started cycling, skating, swimming and dancing very early from childhood and in the coming years, he played football, athletics and swimming for his academical purpose.

He loved to travel and his spirit of adventure made him a perfect candidate for adventure sports which he did with great passion from the beginning.

He is fond of dance theatre and music and these helped him to become a serious actor in Bollywood and did more than 20 TV shows, 5 films, and many music videos and commercials.

Wife and Kid

He tied the knot with Audrey Dolhen in 2015 in Goa and it was a beach wedding. They have blessed with a son, Kian.

Career

He started his career as a dancer and model, and in 2000, he participated in Gladrags Manhunt Contest. His first television show started with the TV series A Mouthful Of Sky in 1995 for DD Metro channel, then Love Marriage in 2002 on Zee TV, and many more.

He did a cameo in SAB TV’s Gutur Gu, it was India’s first silent comedy series. Then, he shot a prominent role in Farhan Akhtar’s film, Lakshya in 2004. Then, he did Karan Johar’s Kaal, in this film his co-actor was Ajay Devgn, Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal in 2007.

He was also a trained dancer-choreographer and worked as a dancer and trainer with Shiamak Davar for a while. He took part in reality shows like Mr. & Ms. TV in 2007,Fear Factor, Fun on the Run and Ek Se Badhkar Ek in 2008 on Zee TV, and in 2011, he won the TV reality game show, Zor Ka Jhatka, which started with 28 participants, in Argentina, and this reality show was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. and shot for Balaji Film’s Rock the Shaadi as 1 lead among 3 main leads.

He also got a wild card entry in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

Death

Kushal Punjabi was found dead at his home in Pali Hill, Mumbai on 26 December 2019. He committed suicide and he was found dead by hanging at his home. His failed marriage and financial crisis are the reasons for this step. He died at the age of 42. In the suicide note, he stated that the property he shared equally among his parents and son.
