Narendra Chanchal is the famous Indian playback Singer, Musician, Poet, and Songwriter. He is lionized for his Aartis and Bhajans where he was called the “Super Star of Bhajans” as he creates an Emotion through his voice. Here is a short biography about the legend Mr. Narendra Chanchal.

Inception

Narendra Chanchal’s first cry was on the 16th of October 1940 in Amritsar, Punjab. His parents were the followers of Goddess Durga where he was brought up in a religious environment that created a passion for singing. He got inspired by his mother singing Bhajans of Mata Rani that developed an interest in Religious singing.

Guru and the Career

He started practicing music from his guru Mr. Prem Tikha from Amritsar. He started his music career by singing various devotional songs and hymns in his locality. After the great hard work, he signed his first assignment for the film “Bobby” in the year 1973 which brought him an Overnight Stardom.

Honors

He was awarded as the Best Playback singer male in the Filmfare Award in 1974. He is also an Honorary Citizen of the US state, Georgia.

Unknown Certitude

When Narendra Chanchal got his stardom after the film “Bobby”, he gave singing Bhajans. Once when he visited the Ma Kali’s Mandir, he ignored signing hymns for Kali with silly replies like “I’m sick and cannot sing”. When he reached home he recognized that he could not sing and he had lost his voice where he believed that he had been punished by Kali for the ignorance. It is been believed that after 2 months of struggle Chanchal visited the same mandir, cried out for his mistake, and got his voice back. At that time he vowed that he will never give up singing Bhajans.

Condolence

This Legend took his last breath on 22nd January 2021 from 12:15 pm to 12:30 pm in Apollo Hospital. He was in his 80th year where he had age-related issues since November. His fans and co-stars along with the honorable Narendra Modi Ji showered their condolence on the Twitter platform using the hashtag #NarendraChanchalji with blubbering eyes.
