Robo Shankar Early Life

Robo Shankar was born on 24^th December 1978 at Eriyur, Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, India. With the interest to enter into cine field, he left his hometown and left towards Chennai. He did not have any financial support to survive. He was a bodybuilder and acts like a robot which gave him the name “Robo Shankar”. He had struggled a lot to survive in the initial phases of life.

He got an opportunity to participate in Vijay TV’s Kalakka Povathu Yaaru which turned his life.  After Kalakka Povathu Yaaru, He worked as a comedian in Vijay TV. He made people laugh out louder through his comedy skills in “Adhu Ithu Edhu” which was also telecasted in Vijay TV. An opportunity was given to Robo in the year 2011 to act in the film “Rowthiram”, but the scenes in which he acted was deleted. In the year 2013, he was given another opportunity to act in the film “Idharkuthana Aasaipattai Balakumara” which proved his acting skills. His first full length supporting character was seen in the movie “Maari” in the year 2015.

Shankar was a mimicry artist when Gokul offered him a role in Rowthiram. Gokul again offered him a role in Idharkuthana Aasaipattai Balakumara which gave him a break as an actor. After doing small roles in Yaaruda Mahesh and Kappal, Balaji Mohan offered a cast for Shankar in Vaayai Moodi Pesavum. His performance was described by critics as “scream”. He portrayed a negative character in Touring Talkies. He then acted in Maari. In March 2017, Robo signed his next project with Pawan Kalyan, which is to be directed by Trivikram Srinivas.
