When YBN Nahmir was 14 years old, he began to show interest in music. In 2014, he formed the hip hop collective YBN ( Young Boss Niggas) in, Alabama, United States.

He uploaded his first song onto YouTube with his fellow YBN member when he was 15. On March 21, 2015, the “Hood Mentality” song was uploaded to hardly any reception. Before releasing his first mixtape on 21st January 2017, Simmons uploaded numerous songs on YouTube. Then on January 21, 2017, he posted his second mixtape to SoundCloud.

On September 18, 2017, Simmons released his “Rubbin Off the Paint” on WorldStarHipHop’s YouTube. This song quickly goes viral and brought more fame to him.

In 2017, Simmons was involved in a controversy about his song being claimed by a record label behind his manager and sold to a third party. In response, he now has an in-house instrumentals producer and is a member of the YBN collective. Also, in 2017, he released six more tracks.

Simmons released “Bounce Out with That” on Lyrical Lemonade’s YouTube channel on 2nd January 2018. Then it collected more than 159 million views on YouTube.
